The primary role of Room Parents is to serve as a communication link and coordinating "body" between Parent's Club and faculty as well as the parents for each class.
While not all parents can, or wish to be, Room Parents, our parent body does depend on their Room Parents to inform them of events and recruit their assistance as necessary.
The goal of the Room Parent program is not to single out a handful of people from each class to perform all of the hospitality functions for each month, but to communicate these functions to all parents, to invite them to participate as they are able, and coordinate these activities to ensure coverage of the event.
The main responsibilities for Room Parents are as follows: Set up and initiate correspondence between class parents, and the help recruit class volunteers for the following:
There are a few classes that have extra duties such as: 3rd grade hosts the First Eucharist Reception Brunch for the 2nd Graders. K and 1st grade hosts Bingo Night with Parents Club. 7th Grade hosts the Baccalaureate Mass Brunch for the 8th Grade graduating class and their parents. 6th Grade hosts the Graduation Reception after graduation.
If you are unable to fulfill your responsibilities for a particular event, it is still your responsibility to re-assign the duties to someone else as soon as possible to ensure consistent communication to the parent body of your class as well as to ensure that the particular event runs smoothly.
For any event requiring Parent's Club supplies you will need two keys:
PLEASE: Return keys promptly after each event to parish office and the hospitality coordinators as they are frequently used by others for different functions. If a key is lost or broken, please advise the respective office promptly so we can have another made quickly.
The Parent's Club key can be returned to the hospitality coordinators in the Parent's Club mailbox in the school office.
We are requesting that either the head room parent or designated room parent only take responsibility for the keys, to allow us to keep track of them more efficiently.
The Parent's Club supplies will be monitored and restocked as required by our hospitality coordinators.
