Welcome to Fourth Grade! My name is Natalie Shirley and I am so excited for another wonderful year here at Christ the King! This will be my eighth year of teaching and sixth year teaching fourth grade. I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting to know my new fourth grade friends. Nine and ten year olds are passionate learners and observers of the world around them. They ask many questions and are eager to discover new things. They are a joy to teach!
I have a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College and State University in addition to math and reading endorsements. Before joining the CKS team, I taught second grade in an Atlanta public school for two years, then moved to the independent school community at The Lovett School, where I taught fourth grade for two years.
I am orginally from Atlanta, Georgia but have lived here, in Seattle with my husband and our two cats for a couple of years now. A few of my passions (other than teaching of course!) include backpacking/mountaineering, photography, cooking, reading fantasy and science fiction novels, and spending time with my friends & family exploring the amazing city that we live in!
I am looking forward to another great year here at CKS!
