I am Joanne Cecchini, Panther Proud principal of CKS and eighth grade homeroom teacher. After devoting 30+ years to teaching eighth graders in our Seattle Archdiocesan Catholic schools, I return to this school year with enthusiasm. I bring an unshakable conviction that education is a transformative process, especially in the vulnerable and rich-with-potential years of middle school. I earned my BA in English at Cal State University at Los Angeles. I completed my teaching preparation and later, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at Seattle University. I look forward to joining with you and your children as we share together our faith journey. Kla how ya!
When I teach, I feel God’s pleasure, and nowhere have I experienced this more than during my teaching in Catholic schools. Through teaching I have loved dedicating my life to nurturing the promise of transformation that lies within each of my students. I am deeply honored to take on a new role of leadership next year as Christ the King Catholic School’s interim principal, and I thank Father Cleaveland for his confidence and inspiration. CKS is an extraordinary school and I am so very proud to share a part in maintaining her great legacy.
