Physical Education

Welcome to Physical Education!

Darick Sotelo Middle School K – 8th Grade PE, 6th-8th Grade Math

Rationale

Physical Education is a much-needed course to create a strong body to help keep the mind fit. CKS PE aims to promote students into engaging in an active and healthy lifestyle.

Aims

This course is designed for play, personal success, team building, life skills and personal physical fitness.

Specific Learning Outcomes

CKS PE is a course that will increase every student’s strength, coordination and success as a physically active student. Students will be in their assigned location in the gym as soon class starts. There will be a warm-up at the beginning of every class, which includes a variety of workout exercises and stretches. The warm-up will be followed up with some kind of physical activity, game, or sport. Once every few weeks, grades 4-8 will participate in assessments (push-ups, pull-ups, vertical leap, forward leaps, etc.) in order to track physical fitness and progress towards their own fitness goals. Students will not be heavily graded or judged on their abilities, but rather on their participation and attitude during class.
