This will be my third year at Christ the King. For the previous 6 school years, I was at Olympic Hills Elementary School where I was teaching reading intervention groups, doing family support work, and managing community partnerships. Outside of education, I enjoy creative hobbies like theatre, music, art, and writing. I have a BA in Spanish and a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Gonzaga University. I have completed Level I of the Kodály Certification program at Seattle Pacific University.
At Christ the King, we believe that music education is an important part of our core curriculum. Students attend music class once a week for forty-five minutes. Fifth grade and middle school students have an opportunity to join our middle school choir. In addition to chorale, students will learn music theory and a variety of instruments to include drumming and bells.
The students get a chance to share their talents at both the Christmas and Spring concerts.
